Sorbead„¢ WS Water-resistant adsorbent, also known as KC-TrockenperlenWS BASF Sorbead„¢ WS waterresistantsilica gel adsorbents have high capacity and protect otheradsorbents and catalysts from water and moisture in a broad rangeof applications. The patented BASF Sorbead line ofhighly efficient adsorbents are alumino-silicate gels in the formof hard, spherical beads, with a very high resistance to crushingand a low attrition rate. Sorbead adsorbents have a longer lifethan most other adsorbents and can reduce operating costs in mostapplications. Sorbead WS is the only 100 %water-resistant adsorbent with a high adsorption capacity. It ismost frequently used as a protective layer in combination withSorbead R or other adsorbents such as molecular sieves, activatedalumina, activated carbons and catalysts in order to increase thereliability of the system. The high capacity of Sorbead WS enablesit to be used on a stand-alone basis as well. With its high resistance againsthydrothermal aging and low regeneration temperature, Sorbead WS isideal for applications where adsorbent regeneration with humid gasoccurs (e.g. Heat-of-Compression and Blower-Purge air dryers, airseparation plants).
